At Mook Hunter.com, we like everyone else, love great movies!  However, let's face it, some movies are not appropriate for kids until they reach a certain age!  That said, at http://www.mookhunter.com/dvd_movie_review.htm, we only promote content that's appropriate.  Check out the latest movie and enetertainment news before you view your local movie times on www.mookhunter.com.  We always advise that parents check out www.filmratings.com too!  This is a great site to help parents grab a quick overview of what they kids are watching!  In fact, at Mook Hunter.com, we are currently promoting the usage of this site on our DVD Movie Review Page!

Looks like I'll go first.  I would like to NOT RECOMMEND one movie for families!  That movie would be called Hostel, or Hostel 2!!  I think it comes out around the first week of June this year.  I won't even describe what it's about.  Just don't let your kids see it.  I don't even know that I'd want to see it, or that I'd even say it's ok for adults to see this movie.  Or the first one for that matter!!  I just can't beleive someone could create such a thing.  I mean, I know it's a movie, but man, come on!!  Is torturing innocent people cool to watch?  I think not!!!

Also, off the subject, do we need to give any sick people more sick ideas!!  I mean, look at what is happening around us.  Look at what happened at Virginia Tech last week.  Horrible!!!!  What about their families?

Imagine this:  What if 10 or 15 years from now, someone starts abducting innocent people, and some serial killer just may, and tortures them for fun or money?  Will everyone look back on 2006 and 2007 when the Hostel Movies came out, and just pass it off like.. oh, they were just movies?

Just my thoughts!!

Yeah, don't go watch that movie - Hostel, hotel for Europeans I guess it is?  I've heard that the plot is not that good for one thing.  Like anyone could have thought that up!!!  Also, it's violent as can be!!  I've saw clips from the first one that came out in 06, and that was more than plenty for me - had NO desire to finish watching it!!  It's not good for kids at all, and maybe not even teenagers for that matter!!

I know you can find filmratings on Mook's DVD Review Page.  Maybe check that out.  If any family has any doubts or concerns, you should go check out a move on Filmratings.com.

Great post by the way Lou32, I never knew you had it in ya!!!

Lou32, I couldn't agree more!  Anyone who watches that junk is wasting their time!  I can't believe that they would make such movies anyway!  Whatever happened to having a good plot, and why all the senseless violence in movies today?  I'm not sure I really get it.  It's like money is the end all period, and no consideration is ever given to the fact that kids may watch this crap!  I don't let my daughter watch that junk!

That's what I'm saying!!  I think digital is getting carried away.  I sorta look at movie previews and think.. ok.. this movie is GETTING WAY TOOO MUCH HYPE, so then you just know it's going to be horrible!  It will make money, like the King Kong, and maybe that isn't the best example, but it's a horrible plot like directors are reaching, or too violent, or just way TOO MUCH digital.  I mean... what the heck happened to movies like Star Wars where you had to creat the special effects, and not just do it on a computer!  Those were the good old days!  Plus, it seems like no one is thinking about how terrible these movies will be thought of 10-15 years down the road, or how fake they'll look!  The new Star Wars movies will probably fall into that category before too long!

Thanks Mikey!  Yeah, and Lou32 I'm with you on the digital.  I love Harry Potter movies, and so does my family, but it's way too much digital too I think.  Maybe I'm old fashioned a little, but, yeah, what happened to good old special effects without the computer?  All the new Spider Man Movies are good examples too!

later guys! did somebody say digital?
